 We had a delicious dinner and wonderful fellowship around the table as wished each other a wonderful new year to come. Eman blew the shofar for us. Patrick shared a special prayer of introspection as we took time to think about our "hidden faults" and pray to dedicate our lives to more obedience to the Word of Adonai. L'Shana Tova! (Happy Jewish New Year!) Rosh Hashana marks the Jewish Civil New Year, the beginning of the agricultural cycle. On Rosh Hashana, we begin a time of reflection, a time to look at our lives and what changes we need to make to follow Torah more closely.
Many of you know that we heat our home with a wood stove. While this helps us financially in a big way, it is quite a bit of extra work. This summer, our dear friends, Karen and Larry, supplied us with a wood shed full of wonderful wood as they have for the past couple of years. All we had to do is split it and stack it. Patrick has been very busy with the TV show recording, and getting ready for the upcoming feasts, and our son Emmanuel is now busy with school. Finally this morning Patrick decided to designate the morning to get all that wood split and stacked. BUT, oh no! The splitter wasn't working! He would have to go to town to get oil, and then he didn't think he would have time to get the job done. He was pretty discouraged and started to do a little clean up, when dear Shane drove up with his truck. "You splittin' wood?" he asked. Turns out that last night he had a dream that he needed to come and help us split the wood! (What?!???) In an hour the whole pile of wood was split, and now we are prepared for winter. It sure was a DREAM come true for us! WE HAVE SUCH WONDERFUL FRIENDS!
Patrick got a call last week from a man that has a Christian Cable TV show. He has heard about Hebrew Roots and invited Patrick to come for an interview to talk about the "Perspectives" show that Patrick has been working on with Ron. So he is going in this morning so that they can record this. Hopefully this will direct more people to the show when it airs on Oct 3, 4, 5.
Perspectives will be airing Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of each week. The same show will repeat each day, and there is a new show each week. We now have the dates for when the Program "Perspectives" will be airing on Comcast Cable TV Channel 11. Ron Judd has been diligently working on this project for a long time and it is finally coming to fruition! God bless you, RON!
To give you a little information about the show, Patrick will be teaching the Hebrew Roots of our faith, and also giving a little bit of insight into different Jewish customs and their significance. It is called "Perspectives" because we all know that looking at the Bible from the Jewish/Hebrew Culture point of view, we can see things in a deeper understanding. It is a half hour program and will be repeated for three days in a row. First dates are: Oct. 3, 4, 5 Oct. 10, 11, 12 Oct. 17, 18, 19 Oct. 24, 25, 26 We will let you know the times, as soon as we know them. Thanks for praying for Patrick as he prepares these classes for the show. It is finally a little cooler today as we won't get to the 90's tonight. Whew!
We had a wonderful Shabbat and we took the time to just sing and worship. We actually hadn't really sat down in our home and just let the music roll, for quite a while. We had Ron over, and even Luda and Vitaly came and Luda accompanied us on the accoustic piano. In addition to a wonderful time of fellowship and worship, we also took some time to work on a few new songs that have been coming to us, just to see how they would go. We are looking forward to recording another CD one day, Abba Willing. I think I will just sit down and count my blessings today. We are in the middle of a heat wave, the first of the summer, believe it or not!
We had a wonderful Torah Study last night, as Patrick has been doing some background to start teaching Endtimes and Revelation. What a difference to get the Hebrew background! For anyone interested, you can easily sit in on our home studies through Skype, every Wednesday evening at about 7:30. If you would like to, please contact us so we can get you plugged in. If you have no idea how to use Skype, let us know, and Patrick can help get it going for you. Skype is a free program and easy to use. Patrick is off to the TV studio again today. Now that the intro and closing credits are done, they are going to start with the actual program, with Patrick doing some teaching. It should take a while to get completed, as it will be a series, but we feel very excited about the potential. We had a record amount of people on our website yesterday! HI EVERYONE!!! Thanks for Patrick will be in the Cable TV station today as he prepares a series of studies on the Hebrew roots of the Bible. This program will be called 'Perspectives" . We don't have a time set yet for when it will air, but are starting to shoot the program today. We hope to post the intro within a couple of weeks for your approval!
