So our sound engineer, Kevin, sent us the basic tracks last night. We will be listening to them to see what we like and don't like, and what needs to be added or changed. We are going to listen during our morning coffee, because then we are off to Rob's for another practice by 9:00 am. Chad, our violinist, will be meeting us there so we will plan some violin parts today. It is such a blessing to have a REAL LIVE violinist play with us. It will make a nice addition to our CD.

We arrived at the studio about 10:30 am and got started recording about 11:30. It takes a while to get all the equipment, mics, keyboard, and drums up and ready. We laid the first song tracks "Worthy is the Lamb" and then moved on to "Chag Sameach" . It went well, with just a few glitches, mostly adding the musical interlude, because Christine was trying to play two parts at one time. We finally got it down. Our next hurdle was a little bit of a coughing spell, as Christine is still getting over the effects of the flu. It took until the afternoon to be able to get some decent back up vocals. Wait till you hear the wonderful drum patterns that Rob came up with! Amazing! We are so privileged to have him drumming for us, as he really had just the right beat to bring the songs to life! I am so excited, as I feel that this CD is going to be a step up from the last one. All in all, we did the basic tracks for 8 songs... one of them 9 minutes long. We got home at 10:30 pm, and built a fire in our wood stove. Outside it was 23 degrees F outside, and 56 inside! Next practice - Sunday..... |
