For those of you who know us, The Lumbrosos, you know that music is just a small part of what we do. We are teachers, and teachers who teach all kinds of things. It is part of our make-up and our God-given talent. Having raised six children ourselves through mostly home schooling, we now put our years of experience to work at the BLUEBERRY HOUSE.
Blueberry House serves students from Kindergarten through High School age, whose needs are not met in the public schools. These children have many reasons for being at Blueberry House, ranging from having different learning disabilities, or learning styles, to being more advanced and seeking more of a challenge. Others were bullied at school and were seeking a warm home-like learning environment. At Blueberry House, you will find a kinder, gentler way of tutoring and teaching. In addition to tutoring, Blueberry House runs a "pioneer style" home school, where children can work at their own level on different subjects, much like the one room school house in the pioneer days.
Using a Bible based curriculum, these students receive not only a solid educational foundation, but also learn to be kind, considerate, and work together as a team.
There are many students who NEED Blueberry House, but many who can't afford the reasonable tuition. Your gift will help us build our scholarship fund to provide families with the help needed to provide a wholesome education for their children at Blueberry House.
